Thugs of Hindostan Official Day 4 Box Office Collections

Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan was record on its opening day , with collections of Rs 52.25 crore on Thursday. The day 1 numbers were on a different level altogether and 50 crore barrier was breached form the first time. This was largely due to the humongous hype the movie was carrying and the star cast it had.

Like Aamir Khan’s previous movies, Thugs of Hindostan was expected to show upward trend on the box office. But the poor word of mouth spread like a wildfire and the viewers decided to skip the Diwali release from the second day itself. With a huge drop of 45 per cent, the movie collected Rs 28.25 crores thereby making the third day extremly crucial. Unfortunately, the collections slid down a bit more and the mega action movie managed Rs 20.50 crore at the box office.

Usually for movies Sunday is the best day for business but the extremely negative word of mouth held its growth. With no holiday support on Monday , the mega budget movie will struggle to sell tickets at the box office and its collection will come down to the single digit. Thugs of Hindostan has received the same treatment as Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal and Salman Khan’s Race 3. It will be interesting to see how these megastars bounce back.
Thugs of Hindostan is one of the biggest Bollywood films in quite a while. Backed by a production house like Yash Raj Films, it stars bigwigs like Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. It is set in the late 18th century and is based on Amitabh Bachchan’s Khudabaksh Azaad-led band of thugs that is fighting against the British East India Company rule.
